Mark started in the oilfield in 1978 as a roughneck, driller in 1982, Research began 1985 to drill well in the Niagara formation. In 1986 promoted and drilled a dry hole. In 1990 Mark started to research drilling a PDC gas well in the Pinconning Michigan area, the well was drilled several thousand feet below lake Huron in 1995, Well came in with gas and condensate, An offset well drilled under Lake Huron also came in with gas and condensate, One more well was drilled inland well came in with gas & condensate. By early 2000 all three wells were producing.
In 2001 Mark started research on a Nigerian well, By 2005 the well was drilled, oil and gas still producing today.
During this time Mark was working as a driller and in 2004 and started mudlogging wells. In 2006 Mark formed a company called Black Gold Consulting, Inc. for mudlogging and drilling consulting adding completion consulting, leasing, picking a location, overseeing building roads drill pads and bring on production. Through this time he has employed several highly qualified consultants and vendors to perform the work needed to bring on wells economically to ensure a profit for the company.
Black Gold Exploration, Inc.
Mark formed Black Gold Exploration, Inc. for the sole purpose to develop a shallow Devonian age carbonate field called the Hardwood Point Field. There is still one well producing in a much deeper zone, one well has been plugged.
